Try getting connected to God. Evil occupies earth; every entrance and every exit. Evil is everywhere in this world; especially in places you would never suspect. God does exist in this wonderful, beautiful, cruel world; it is called the Holy Spirit, and it lives in those of us following Jesus; those of us who have asked Jesus into out heart and forgiving us of our sins. It makes sense to me; in fact, it makes so much sense, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me when I was seven years of age. I was only a child; I was a child of God, and I still am today. So, what is holding you back from being a child of God? Is it eternal glory? Are you afraid? Afraid of what? Just contemplate for a while; think about it. Following Jesus is not easy, and I am not trying to blow smoke up your computer by saying being a child of God is nothing but rainbows and butterflies; you can get that in Hawaii if that is what you desire. All I am saying is, when you are a child of God, you concentrate more on the good things in life than you do the bad, and that is because of what the Holy Spirit teaches you. The Holy Spirit teaches children of God to be prayerful, and all of the sudden Jesus shows up in your life, and it is like okay, so we are really doing this? Jesus grabs your heart and soul and says follow me; you may be hesitant at first due to fear, and you realize maybe you were afraid all along; however, you learn to embrace your fear. Take my wife, Crystal, for example: she accepted Jesus into her heart in the bathroom of all places; she said she saw something different in me and my family, and she wanted to know why, and so I told her it was Jesus in my life, and right then and there she asked Jesus into her heart. That was back in 2004 or 2005; now, she is a children’s pastor at our church because God called her and she answered with an abundance of faith. Crystal is not just the children’s pastor, she is part of the glue that helps hold our church together. Crystal is fearless even in all her insecurities and faults; she concentrates on the good in our lives even though things are not going quite as expected. I am so proud of Crystal and her faith, and now, I am watching and learning how God is working in her life so I will not be far behind her. We are connected to God and Jesus Christ; if you ever feel like you need a lifeline when you are alone in this world, it does not have to be that way; get connected.
Take care and God bless!
Chris
