Exhibited

I remember several years ago when Crystal and I were living in Mebane; one day Crystal surprised me with tickets to a Monet exhibit in Raleigh, because I enjoy looking at art though this would have been my first art exhibit. Needless to say, Crystal and I were very excited to go to the Monet exhibit. So, Crystal and I start out to go, but when we got on I-40 the traffic was backed up; being we only had a short time to get there, we both were livid knowing we would never make it on time.

All Crystal and I could do was get off I-40 and go get something to eat: something we planned to do after the exhibit. It is okay though; Crystal and I made the best out of the situation. Though Crystal and I had been angry the traffic kept us from our destination, we had a good time anyway; however, we did complain about a month over that failed trip to see the Monet exhibit. Now, Crystal and I can look back and laugh about the trip to the Monet exhibit that did not quite happen; well, sometimes!

Is it not funny how things do not work out sometimes? We can put a lot of time and energy into something, and it may never come to fruition; it can be very frustrating and disappointing, as we may feel as though we wasted our time with whatever it was we were working on; however, we can always learn something in our preparation and the tasks we performed in order to make things happen. Although we may feel defeated, I believe we can always take a win away from a loss; in other words we learn something very forthcoming.

Whether said project, destination, or just the plain ol’ college try does not happen, we can always rectify the situation; if not immediately then we have future endeavors to embark upon. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control, but then sometimes we need to make better decisions: for example, should Crystal and I have left earlier for the Monet exhibit in Raleigh? Yet, had the traffic not been backed up Crystal and I would have made it in plenty of time to the exhibit.

Okay, I am through babbling and brain storming. If you do not have faith like I do, then I will have to recommend Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Whatever works for you, I hope you never miss an opportunity because of traffic; when things happen out of our control, that is when God takes over, so keep pressing toward the mark being God’s will.

Take care and God bless!
