My parents were not perfect, and I am guessing your parents were not perfect either. Perhaps you went through some kind of abuse or neglect from your mother or father or both of them. Well, I wish you would do yourself a big favor and forgive them.
Parents do the best they can. Your grandparents were not perfect in raising your parents, and neither were your great grandparents and so on. Not forgiving your parents and loving them for bringing you into this world is the same as rebellion; whether you want to believe this or not, you are basically saying you wish you had not been born.
Just saying, if you have a child and you don’t want them to hold things against you when they are well into their adult years, then you should probably grow up and realize your parents did the best job they could raising you and maybe your siblings.
All I am saying is think about it; there is more to the saying “forgive and forget”. If you are not willing to forget you are only hurting yourself and your Christian values if you have any. Actually, do more than think about it: ask yourself why? Why do I hate my parents in all my idiosyncrasies.
If this is your situation, you really do not understand what Jesus is all about. The Bible says you must learn to forgive in order to be forgiven. Maybe you can still go to heaven with burdens you refuse to let go of, but is that what you really want? Learn to forgive, and if you can not forget then love them anyway, because Jesus loves us and we are a mess of a society.
