Never Out of Mind

Sometimes our storms are on the inside of us. Sometimes mother-nature storms on us exactly the time we do not need it to. So, what can we do when we are sitting in the dark in the middle of summer during a power outage feeling helpless because we have become dependent on electricity. Sure, you can pick up a book and a flashlight because the darkness shall not overcome it. We can always listen to what God is saying to us, and what better time than a power outage?

God does have something to say to you: it could be a vision for the future, or maybe He wants to simply say He loves you, and perhaps He wants to tell you to be patient a little while longer. Whatever your circumstances are God will address them whether it be visually, or through auditory; maybe you are thinking, “Does that not make me crazy?” It does make you crazy: crazy for God! Just try to listen for God intently, and try to pray continually, and do not forget that God speaks to us through people, songs, and last and never least, the Bible.

As you may have already guessed, the power went out at the parsonage not long ago, so this entry is a result of that. The first part of this entry was actually written a couple weeks ago.

Now, I am sitting in the front pew during church service; we are singing as I write this. It probably looks like I am not paying attention, but I am. As I multitask, Crystal has just started her sermon, so I had better stop and give God my undivided attention. I hope you have a great Sunday, and if you are a Nazarene have a nice Nazarene nap!

take care and God bless!

Chris
