◦ Once when I was a kid, I got a big wheel but it was not just any big wheel; it was a Green Machine. If you are around my age you know what I am talking about. I received it as a birthday present from my parents. The Green Machine was a bright green color, and it had two gears used to steer it so I would be able to spin out with it.
When my father brought it in the kitchen brand new, I have to admit I was taken back and surprised; I could feel my eyes light up when I first saw it. The Green Machine was so shiny and clean I almost did not want to get it dirty. I would have been happy riding it in the house to keep it clean, but Mama would not go for that.
This is how I feel with Jesus in my life, as every day is a mystery and a gift. God is always surprising me when I least expect it. My love for God is calling me out of my comfort zone, and my response has been … responsive.
It is very exciting to know that my relationship with Jesus is not dead in the water; in fact, it has been blown out of the water in regards to my confidence and self-esteem; meaning I am getting out more and that step alone was a lot like a leap of faith.
God has helped me realize that not everyone has to like the way I look; let them judge the book by the cover. Although I want people to like me, sometimes it is not meant to be. I suppose that is a good way to be humbled.
I am also happy to say I am writing this from District Assembly during break-out groups; I did not go so I could write this. Anyhoo, it is almost time to get back to business at hand, so I will sign off now. Thank you for reading, and I love you all.
Take care and God bless!
Chris
