Yesterday I heard someone speak that I never thought I would hear from. Crystal and I are at the Global Leadership Summit in Oklahoma City. The person I heard speak on live video was Coach K. Now, I am not a Duke fan; in fact, I am the opposite of a Duke fan. I am a Carolina fan, and I bleed Tar Heel blue!
As I suspected, Coach K is an excellent speaker and he is very humorous; he has a dry humor and he is sharp as a tack! It is kind of weird I had to move to Oklahoma just to hear Coach K speak, after moving from North Carolina not far from Durham.
It gave me an interesting perspective on Coach K after learning some of his history, though I still do not agree with his coaching style but I respect him.
Leadership: I feel as though I was always a leader who has not quite reached my potential. Why? Is it my mental illness or have I had trouble managing my leadership skills due to life’s factors?
All I know is I am very fortunate to have been here at the Summit. I took in so much information on leadership yesterday, I stayed up late last night thinking how I can apply what I learned from some awesome speakers, to my life and to this blog.
It helped me realize that I want to write more because writing is my passion or I would not have started this blog. It has been a struggle lately. I think my last post was somewhat negative and I think that took away from my passion. I was in a bad place when I wrote it, but after some time and a lot of talking with God, I finally got past the issues holding me back.
Even after I got back to where Jesus needed me to be, I still did not feel I could write anything worth reading until now. Perhaps it is still not worth reading; I will leave this up to you.
If you are reading this I thank you, and I pray for you.
Take care and God bless!
Chris
